Google To Shift User Data From Buzz To Google Drive

Curtains will finally fall on the ill-fated social networking site on 17th July, 2013.

Google shut down its social platform named Buzz way back in 2011, and now it seems to be cleaning up its server space. In a note sent out to its users (as put up by engadget.com), the search giant will be clearing out all data out of Google Buzz user accounts, but not before redirecting it to their Google Drive instead. The data will be stores as two files, a private set with all of your posts (public and private) that can be viewed only by the user, and a public set with all the posts marked as public on Buzz, which any one with the link can check out. The good part is that all this data will not add load to your current Drive storage space.

If there are some posts on the service that you'd rather not let the world see, then this is the perfect time to selectively save your profile details, as any data deleted will not be backed up. You have until 17th July to do so, after which the data shifting will commence.
