Xolo A800 which was launched late last year, can now be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device which is priced at Rs 10K across various online retailers, would arrive with the older Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform by default. Xolo's other smartphones like the A1000, and the Q800 came with Android 4.1 out of the box. Android 4.1 for Xolo A800, which is in the form of a 191 MB file can be downloaded directly from Xolo's official website through USB.

Users can check out Xolo's official software installation guide which provides detailed instructions on how to download and install the update through USB. Post download instructions are also detailed in the guide. A positive aspect this time around is that users needn't have to locate a Xolo service center just to get their A800 upgraded. An Android 4.1 update, as usual brings with a host of features like Google's Project Butter, User Interface improvements, Customized notifications, Better widgets and of course the Google Now support.

These enhancements to the Xolo A800 smartphone help with an enhanced UI and speed (due to Project Butter implementation). The Xolo A800 is a mid-range Android smartphone that features a 4.5" inch display (960x540 pixels), and runs on a 1GHz dual-core processor.
