Google Celebrates 37th Anniversary Of Atari Breakout

The Easter egg comes up when using Google's Image search.

Atari's popular brick game Breakout turns 37 today, and Google has paid a tribute not by a doodle, but this time through an Easter egg of a code hidden within its Image search option. To start playing, just type "atari breakout" into Google Image Search and hit enter. The page converts the search listings into bricks and you can enjoy a game of breakout right from your browser. Once you have completed the level (or exhausted all your attempts) you can share your scores via Google+ too.

The game was originally created by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow in 1976, and draws its roots from a game called Pong, which debuted in 1972.
