Alcatel Announces One Touch Idol And One Touch Idol Ultra In India

Alcatel, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based TCL corporation, has added two new phones to its smartphones portfolio in India. The latest entrants are One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra. According to a press release, with the thickness of 6.45 mm, the Idol Ultra is the slimmest phone in its class. The One Touch Idol on the other hand, takes pride for being the lightest smartphone in its category, tipping the scale at 110 games.

The One Touch Idol Ultra features a 4.7" HD AMOLED screen (720x1280 pixels) with oleophobic coating. It's powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor (MTK 6577 chipset) has a 1 GB of RAM. There's an 8 megapixel camera for photography. Apart from that you get 16 GB internal storage, 1800 mAh battery. The phone runs the latest Android 4.1 OS (Jelly Bean). It comes embedded in a soft touch coating case to enhance not just its aesthetics but also the grip. Priced at Rs. 21,000 Idol ultra is available in vibrant colour options of black and red to choose from. And if that wasn't enough, this phone will feature in the upcoming Iron Man movie. Hard to believe that billionaire Tony Stark prefers mid-range phones!

The One Touch Idol is a dual-SIM (GSM) phone with a 4.7" IPS screen with an oleophobic coating. Similar to the Idol Ultra, this phone features an 8 megapixel camera. The phone houses a 1 GHz dual-core processor, and has 512 MB of RAM. On the software front, you get Android OS v4.1 (Jelly Bean). The phone is available in Silver, Slate, Cranberry Pink, and Red.

To sweeten the deal further, the cellular operator IDEA is offering 1 GB of 3G data, along with 3 months of online TV with recharge of Rs. 261 on prepaid, and Rs. 259 for postpaid users.
