This year has seen the launch of a crazy number of budget tablets, and the rush hasn't even stopped on the last day of the year! For Karbonn, it's business as usual: The domestic brand has unveiled its Smart Tab 8 Velox. The 8" screen has pixel dimensions of 1024x768. The Smart Tab 8 Velox is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU, and has 1 GB of RAM. Apart from that, it features a 3 mp rear camera and a front VGA camera. Android fans will be pleased by the fact the tablet offers Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. The complete list of features is as below:

The Karbonn Smart Tab 8 Velox is available online for Rs 7000. Going by its specs, the tablet seem to offers great value for money. The only concern I have here is about the screen's 4:3 aspect ratio. Such tablets not only look awkward, they're also incompatible with many apps because Android software is optimised for a 16:9 aspect ratio.
