Samsung Hasn't Given-Up On Tizen Yet

Will launch a new Tizen-based phone this month.

Remember Tizen? Yes, Samsung's own operating system that powered many of its phones, televisions, and even smartwatches at some point. Compared to the success Samsung had with Android, Tizen turned out to be a disappointment. Samsung is in no mood to give-up on its hopes though, as the Korean brand is now planning to release the Tizen-powered Z3 in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

The Z3 is successor of Z1. Don't ask what happened to the Z2. As usual, the new phone comes with relatively better hardware specifications. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core chip. There's 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. You can expand it via a microSD card slot. It features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution.

In the photography department, you get an 8 megapixel camera on back. There's also a 5 megapixel snapper for selfies. Targeted at the developing markets, the phone comes with dual-SIM support.

According to Sammobile.com, the Z3 is expected to be launched later this month at the Tizen Developer Summit in Bengaluru. It is said that the attendees will given away free Tizen phones. Microsoft would be hoping that not too many people attend the event, otherwise due to these free phones, Tizen might surpass Windows Phone user base.
