The popular micro blogging site Twitter seems to have been taking a step ahead and is allowing users to add their birthday to their Twitter profiles with a new update.

This new feature is however optional and you can always decide whether you want show it on your profile or not.

While this feature seems to have been borrowed from Facebook, Twitter will likely take this a little further.

The company has announced on an official blog post that the birthday will also be used to show you more relevant content and also it essentially is an easy way to target better audience for better ads.
