Facebook To Launch 'Lite' Version Of Its App

Facebook Lite is built to give people reliable Facebook experience when bandwidth is at a minimum.

Facebook app in less than 1 MB file size might sound more like a joke. Right?

Well, the social media giant is coming up a new version of Facebook known as the Facebook Lite which is claimed to use less data and works well across all network conditions.

Facebook seems to have finally understood that not all its users have access to 4G connectivity, especially in parts of Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe.

However, Facebook is for now rolling out the new lite version of the app in countries across Asia for now and soon to other regions where connectivity is still a problem to many.

Since the Facebook app file size is very low, it is quite fast to install and load the app's core features like News Feed, Status Updates, Photos, Notifications and more.

Adding more into this, Facebook has put it in its official app that more than a billion people around the world access Facebook from a range of mobile devices on varying networks. In many areas, networks can be slow and not able to support all the functionality found in Facebook for Android.

Keeping this in mind, Facebook Lite might have been the best thing Facebook has done giving people Facebook experience at all situations.
