Yu Names Its Project Caesar Smartphone As Yuphoria

The name was selected through an online social media naming campaign in which the company received more than 1 Lakh entries.

 

Micromax subsidiary Yu has recently announced that its next Cyanogen OS based smartphone to be called as the Yuphoria.

Earlier codenamed as Project Caesar, the company recently carried out a naming campaign "#YUNameIt" where a list of names were given to YU fans to choose and vote the one they like the most.

It is worth noting that the company claims to have received more than 1 Lakh entries and Yuphoria to be mostly liked by the YU fans.

We must say that the company has learned what user engagement is and ever since this smartphone was conceptualised by the company, the fans are being involved in every possible way.

Micromax had given away five names - Yuknight, Yunicorn, Yunity, Youth and Yuphoria and the voting ran between April 6 and 7 via its social media platforms.



To add in more charm, YU has also announced that five randomly selected lucky winners from the entries for name Yuphoria would be given away with the new YU device.

Also, many participants have won Amazon Gift Cards worth Rs 1 Lakh throughout the campaign.

However, there are no more details regarding the Yuphoria smartphone except that it will come bundled with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
