Facebook Launches An Embeddable Video Player

The company is likely to pose a threat to the popular video sharing service YouTube.

It looks like Facebook has taken a critical step in building its video presence outside its own platform.

Users can now embed the videos on Facebook across the web.

The social networking site is also boasting about the ease in which users can embed the videos.

Users need to copy the embed code, place it in a menu at the bottom of the video and it will show up in a new and functional player.

Also, news and rumours have been spreading that Facebook is running behind advertisers and publishers and trying to add support for embeds with an aim to help them spread videos outside their own platform.

May be, Facebook is trying to shake YouTube a little especially after it launched support for 360-degree videos recently.

Although Facebook's new feature cannot hurt the success of YouTube, we can always cannot neglect the fact that Facebook is also a fast growing community which can definitely pose threat for the popular video sharing website.
