BEWARE: Fake Invitations To Test WhatsApp Voice Calling Feature

Cyber-scammers are sending over fake invitations and infecting your smartphone with malicious apps.

It looks like the cyber scammers have found out a new way to infect your smartphone with malicious apps.

The main target for the cyber-scammers are the WhatsApp users across the world.

Fake messages inviting users to test the new calling feature of the popular messaging app are being circulated by the cyber-scammers.

If you click on the link, then you will be taken to another website where they are asked to take a survey which forces people to download applications and software that might contain dangerous malware. Beware of it!

It is worth noting that the WhatsApp calling feature as of now is invite-only and appears to work for people running the latest version of WhatsApp for Android on a Google Nexus 5 running the latest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.

However, we have not yet received any official announcement from WhatsApp regarding the calling feature. But there have been some users who claim to have used the service.

To conlcude, since the feature we believe is invite-only, millions of users across the world are eagerly waiting to access the free voice-calling feature on WhatsaApp and searching over the internet as to how to enable the feature on WhatsApp and this is what scammers are taking advantage of.

For your information, please know that the WhatsApp calling feature is currently available on Android Lollipop and with the latest version of WhatsApp. Also, know that the free calling feature is still in the beta version and is not available through PLAY STORE, but can downloaded only from the official WhatsApp website on INVITE.
