Xiaomi Redmi 2 Likely To Be Launched On Thursday

The company has come up with a new contest which enables the participants to win priority passes for the new device.

Xiaomi India seems to be very confident in its products and has come up with a new strategy to lure in customers for its new product that is all set to be launched in India, according to the company's official website.

The company has come up with a new contest on its official website through which its new product is being teased.

Though not announced officially, we believe the new product to be the Xiaomi Redmi 2 which is believed to be priced at around Rs. 7,100.

The contest is all about finding three keywords from a word puzzle which Xiaomi claims to be 'hints' on their upcoming product. The winners will be selected to win exclusive priority pass.

While the word puzzle shared by the company has words such a quick charge, expandable, e-books, matte and cortex, they unfortunately don't really hint at a particular product that can be expected to launch on March 12.

To add more, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is expected to be launched this week considering that the company's exclusive online partner in India, Flipkart, is no longer selling the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

The recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 was initially launched in January in China.

The dual-SIM dual-standby device sports a 4.7-inch IPS display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The mobile phone features company's own MIUI 6 skin.

The phone is powered by a 64-bik 1,2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes with an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera along with an in-built storage of 8GB which can be expanded via microSD card.

The phone is backed by a 2200mAh battery.

However, there are rumours that the Redmi 2 may come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. We are yet to be confirmed about the same.
