Rumour: LG G4 Will Compete With Samsung’s GALAXY Note Series

Certainly seems like the end of the flagship smartphone and the dawn of the flagship phablet.

We have come across some really odd news today in the rumour mill and this one points to LG’s upcoming G4 flagship, which will make its debut next year. News is that LG’s next flagship smartphone (or phablet) will come with a stylus which is similar to the Samsung Note series of devices.

While LG did launch the G3 Stylus this year, it indeed belonged to another product category altogether, which was thanks to the mid-range internals that it came with. So when the news about the next LG G4 flagship with a stylus surfaces, it indeed means that LG may be upto something here.

LG may be looking to either kill two birds with one stone by delivering a flagship smartphone/phablet that will compete with both the Samsung GALAXY S6 and Next year’s Note 5. Else, what we could be hearing about, simply could be a newer version of LG’s G Pro range.

While this year’s LG G Pro 2 came pretty close to the Samsung GALAXY Note 3, the smartphone came with some impressive hardware, with just the stylus that was missing. Of course the LG G Pro 2 could not compete with the Note 4 that is a lot more powerful and more so because the latter dropped into the market pretty late this year.

Well, now that the G Pro 2 is out of the way, there is this other theory that LG could be canning the G Pro series and building the smartphone in phablet format (an all-rounder of sorts). This is more so because Samsung's success was indeed with the GALAXY Note 4 than it was with the GALAXY S5 this year. Will this be end of the flagship smartphone and the beginning of an era of flagship phablets? Well, at least for now Google seems to feel that way too, since it launched the Nexus 6 phablet this year.
