Yahoo Pushes Out An Update For Aviate Launcher; Adds Search And More

Search will not only sift through your apps but also search for results online.

 

Yahoo has released another update for its Aviate launcher for Android and this time around, it adds a really handy feature along with some cosmetic updates as well.

The well-designed launcher app that delivers the right information and apps depending on your location, will now even help you search better. Upon updating the app you will see a new search bar that acts as a universal search for your device. You will now be able to search for apps, contacts and the web right from your homescreen. Searches done on the web will be powered by Yahoo and as of now there is no option to change that.

Also included in this update is compatibility with Google’s Nexus 6 smartphone. Another cool feature that may have been requested by many users is live wallpaper support and the Aviate team has certainly delivered on that front.

There are the usual performance improvements and bug fixes added as well. Since this is an initial release for the launcher’s search functionality, the feature is available to English-speaking users in the U.S. only. But the Aviate team is working to deliver the same to other markets as well.
