Cyanogen Says It Will Support The OnePlus One In India

Both buyers and prospective buyers of the OnePlus One can finally breathe a sigh of relief

Software maker Cyanogen has announced that it will continue to support the OnePlus One in India, putting to rest claims of any reports suggesting otherwise. The news comes after both companies locked horns over what features were co-developed, but at no point did their global relations seem strained.

“To clarify misinformation out there, the OnePlus One will get OTA firmware updates for all global devices, including global devices for our users in India. Rather than have misinformation continue to circulate out there, we felt it important to bring this matter to rest."

The misunderstanding sprung up after Cyanogen's tie up with Micromax to form the YU brand, locking the company from serving up updates for any other device in India. Following this announcement, OnePlus said that it will support Indian buyers with its own version of Android, further fueling the fire.

While OnePlus refused to comment on the report just yet, stating that they were waiting for an official conformation of the same. YU too has refused to comment on the situation, according to TechRadar. The most important thing however is that buyers of the OnePlus can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
