Microsoft To Launch Its First WP Smartphone On November 11

Codenamed the RM-1090, the budget smartphone will certainly deliver the power of everyday mobile to everyone.

Microsoft is all geared up to launch its first smartphone codenamed the RM-1090. The smartphone is a budget device aimed at bringing features like a capable primary and front-facing camera to the budget segment.

Indeed Microsoft is all geared up, as the tech giant has finally taken down the Nokia branding from its social media properties and and converted the same to Lumia and Microsoft Lumia. The company will be launching its first Microsoft branded device sans the Nokia logo that has been making rounds in the rumour mill for quite some time.

There is not much that we knew about the RM-1090 until it showed up on the TENAA (the Chinese version of the FCC). Apart from the pictures, we now also know about the internals and the fact that it will not sport any capacitive keys, similar to the Lumia 530 and the 630:

  • The smartphone (according to TENAA) sports a 5 inch display with just a 960 x 540 pixels The battery is 1900 mAh one while the smartphone 140.2 x 72.4 x 9.3mm
  • There are no details on the camera just yet, but from the images we can tell that it will at least sport an LED flash unit on the back
  • We get dual SIM card slots and Windows Phone 8.1 running inside

Basically a big smartphone that is small on specs and made for the masses. The unveiling happens online on the 11th of November.
