Dotgears Rolls Out Flappy Birds Family For Amazon’s Fire TV

Seems like the promised August launch for Dong Nguyen’s Flappy Bird is coming soon.

Dotgears has just announced that the next instalment of Flappy Bird tagged as Flappy Birds Family is out and is currently only available on Amazon’s Fire TV. Flappy Bird was indeed a big hit and it seems that the developers have created a tougher game that is now just limited to Amazon's Fire TV subscribers.

It is rather strange as to why Dotgears would limit the game to smaller audience, rather than letting it loose on Google’s Play Store or iTunes, but we guess that the devs have their own special reasons. The game comes with the same mechanics and you may end up breaking your controller or remote in frustration out here as well. What is new, is the multiplayer mode that will allow you to compete with your friend with up to three lives, with the winner being the one who ends up closest to the finish line. Also added are some more distractions in the form of ghosts which should make it tougher for you to navigate those pipes.

As for the limited release, we guess that the devs at the Vietnamese game studio are preparing something better for mobile, as seen from a previously released screenshot of the game.

One thing is for sure, the Flappy Bird craze has clearly died out by now, so naming the next instalment with same title will again make no sense. Clearly, the devs at Dotgears already know this, which is why the leaked screenshot of the game does not contain the older characters (birds), but people jumping over rooftops instead.
