ZTE To Launch Its Nubia Z7 Max Smartphone In India This October

Rumours suggest the high-end device could be priced between Rs 24,000 and Rs 26,000.

Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE could launch its Nubia Z7 Max smartphone in India this October, to cash in on the festive season sales rush. The device is expected to be priced between Rs 24,000 and Rs 26,000 and will be the company's first premium offering in the country.

The Nubia Z7 Max was launched in China earlier this month, and ZTE claims it sold 52,800 units of the device in 4 minutes and 36 seconds. The device features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) display and is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled to 2GB of RAM.

Internal storage memory stands at 32GB and can be expanded to a maximum of 64GB via a microSD card slot. The Z7 Max also houses a 13MP primary camera at the rear and a 5MP front facing unit that should make for some high-resolution selfies.

The Nubia Z7 Max runs on Google's latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat, loaded with ZTE propitiatory Nubia UI 2.0 on top. All that hardware is powered by a 3,100mAh lithium-ion battery that is rated at 720 hours of standby time and 40 hours of talk time.

According to an IBNLive report, ZTE is looking at selling the Nubia Z7 Max smartphone through the e-commerce route. The strategy has panned out very well for Motorola recently who has tied up with Flipkart for sale of its phones. "ZTE is looking at selling Nubia in India through the online route. Discussions are still on," said an unnamed source in the report.

ZTE also sells the Z5 S, Z5 Mini and the X6 under its Nubia range of devices, but news of the company bringing more than one model to India are still unknown. The Nubia devices are primarily targeted at the European market, but given the success the devices in China the company is now looking to bring it to developing markets such as India.
