WickedLeak Launches Its Wammy Neo Youth Smartphone At Rs 8,490

The device features an octa-core processor and a 5-inch screen; certainly seems like a lot of bang for your buck.

 

Indian smartphone manufacturer WikedLeak has announced the launch of its Wammy Neo Youth smartphone in the country at Rs 8,490. The device will be available for pre-order on July 15 exclusively on www.wikedleak.com and will also come in a waterproof variant for an additional Rs 1,500.

The Wammy Neo Youth features a 5-inch HD (1280x720 pixels) display that boasts of a pixel density of 320ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and a Mali 450 GPU. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box, but can be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat.

Internal memory stands at a meager 8GB but the Wammy Neo Youth does support microSD cards up to 64GB. In terms of imaging the device houses a 13MP primary camera at the rear along with a 5MP front-facing shooter for taking those all important selfies. All that hardware will be powered by a 2,200mAh battery, but there's no word yet on the tentative standby time and talk time.

Another huge feature of the WickedLeak Wammy Neo Youth is its gesture controls that allow users to change song, browse the gallery, answer calls and click photos. Also available is the S View flip cover that allows users to operate the phone without opening the cover at a price of Rs 1,500.
