LG: KitKat Coming To Older Optimus Devices In Brazil

Not too old, its just the recent ones as far as we can see, which some rather strange exclusions.

LG Brazil has announced via its social media channels that the company would be releasing Android KitKat updates for its older Optimus range of devices. While some devices are almost two years old now, there are some rather odd exclusions that the Korean smartphone maker has decided to let go off. It is only LG Brazil who has made the announcement, and we are not sure whether the international handsets will get upgraded to the same.

We begin with the Optimus G a handset that was launched back in August 2012 and was often pitted against the Samsung GALAXY S3. The Optimus G should be getting Android KitKat by the end of August. Next up is the more recent, Optimus G Pro, which should get KitKat by the end of July.

2013 models like the L7 II and the G Pro Lite will be receiving the update by the end of the year. If you were wondering whatever happened to the stunning Optimus 4X HD, well LG has no plans for upgrading that handset just yet, which is a bit shocking since the handset was one of the best flagships available in 2012, when the quad-core revolution began.
