Spice Launches KitKat-Powered Stellar Mi-600 In India At Rs 9,999

The very first Spice smartphone to be powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the Stellar 600 is a whole nine months late.

Spice has launched its very first Android KitKat-powered smartphone, the Stellar Mi-600, in India at Rs 9,999. The dual SIM device will be sold exclusively through HomeShop18, where it is currently listed as being 'Out of Stock'.

The Stellar Mi-600 features a 6-inch IPS display with qHD resolution (540x960) that makes for a lowly pixel density of just 184ppi. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor which is coupled with 1GB or RAM. Internal storage memory stands at just 4GB, but can be expanded by up to 32GB via a microSD card.

While the most exciting bit of the Stellar Mi-600 will be the software, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, it's role is somewhat downplayed given the fact that you can buy much cheaper devices running Google's latest OS. In terms of imaging the phone features an 8MP primary camera with an LED flash module at the rear, and a 3.2MP front-facing shooter.

Powering all that hardware is a 2,500mAh battery, which according to the company delivers up to 14 hours of talk time and 192 hours on standby. The phone is 3G enabled and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth round up the wireless connectivity options.

Spice is even chucking in a utility dock which has a stylus and a smart flip cover along with every Stellar Mi-600 smartphone.
