Samsung’s ATIV Camera App Surfaces In Windows Phone Store

Indeed Samsung has not given up on Windows Phone completely, but there is one big problem.

Samsung has apparently published an ATIV Camera app on the Windows Phone Store. The app is currently not available for download, but we managed to get a few screenshots that sheds some light on its features and includes much-needed HDR mode.

The app as it stands in the Windows Phone Store is available only for Windows Phone 8.1 devices and will in all probability be Samsung exclusive. This is not exactly where the app works, but what it brings to the game that is important. For beginners there is the all-important HDR mode, which currently no other Windows Phone comes with, including the camera-conscious Nokia (Microsoft) devices. Also included are options which are found on the GALAXY line-up such as Beauty Face, Best Photo, Best Face, Rich Tone (HDR), Eraser and Night Shot (which could include Samsung’s custom processing algorithms for low light scenarios).

Moreover, Windows Phone Central also confirms the existence of Smooth Motion and Slow motion video capture, which will also include the ability to pull out frames from a recorded video.

Let’s just hope that Samsung decides to make the app available for all Windows Phone 8.1 devices instead of being Samsung only. Clearly, Samsung ATIV devices will be the last to get the Windows Phone 8.1 update because Nokia users are still awaiting Lumia Cyan to hit their devices; something which may happen tomorrow.

Still then if you do want to give the app a go with your non-Samsung Windows Phone device, you can head to the download page by clicking here and give it a shot.
