Is Harley-Davidson Teasing Us With Its First Electric Motorcycle?

Gone is the iconic lub-dub sound, replaced with a jet engine like squeal. This will definitely lead to a few bar fights.

Motorcycles manufactured by iconic American manufacturer Harley-Davidson are famed for their thunderous exhaust note, but for its next model the company seems to be going rather quiet. In a teaser video the company gives us a listen to what clearly is the whine of electric motors, confirming the suspicion of an upcoming electric hog.

The video shows us a glimpse (not clear) of the motorcycle in question, but more than the visuals its the sound the bike produces – a jet engine like squeal, that captures our imagination. Gone is the iconic potato-potato and is replaced by something modern, definitely blasphemous in the eyes of purists.

Still, electric drivetrain = mountains of torque, which translates to stunning quarter mile times that should appeal to American enthusiasts. Apart from showing off the Harley badge (sans text), the video also bears the date '06-19-14' which means we won't have to wait too long to see what the company has come up with.
