LG G3 Beats Samsung GALAXY S5 At Home; Posts Better Launch Day Sales

Looks like the Koreans themselves are just plain fed up of Samsung’s band-aid design theme.

In a surprising turn of events, the Korean media reported that LG beat its competitor Samsung in terms of smartphone flagship sales. We are talking about the much-awaited LG G3 literally demolishing the Samsung GALAXY S5’s launch day sales figures in Korea.

Samsung in the first few days of its launch managed to sell 7000-8000 units of the GALAXY S5, while LG pushed off 25,000 to 30,000 units of the G3 flagship every single day.

Of course, much of this confusion can be attributed to the fact that Samsung was indeed under an imposed sales ban during the S5’s launch. Korean operators then launched the device ahead of schedule to overcome the sales ban, which took place due to the country’s carriers violating laws that impose the maximum subsidy for a phone.

Despite this, the LG G3 certainly is a lot more impressive in every aspect, which is why we guess many buyers did save up for what they knew was going to be the first QHD (2560 x 1440 pixel) smartphone this year (Oppo’s Find 7 is not available yet). Moreover, LG’s faux-metal design  and ultra-thin bezels seem to have done the trick as well. LG simply polished the features from the G2, gave the device a design refresh and waited to the others to launch their products to see what they were up to. Clearly, the trick indeed seems to have paid off, and how?
