Analyst Claims That Every New iPhone And iPad Will Ship With Touch ID

Apple is supposedly working with new substances to make the Touch ID sensor units more durable.

Apple is reportedly planning to add the Touch ID hardware to every upcoming iPhone and iPad says noted KGI analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo. The company seems to be going all-out this time around and apart from the iPod, plans to make the security feature available on the rest of its mobile devices range.

The analyst also states that Apple will even be switching to different chemical substances for its upcoming Touch ID units in order to make them more durable and is rumoured to move to tin for the same. ASE and Sharp will be responsible for the Touch ID module’s packaging, while Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will be in charge of manufacturing the equipment.

Obviously Apple does see the broader picture here. Millions of Touch ID units on more devices indicate that Apple will indeed be planning on closing the gap between security and purchases. May be Apple will soon announce a service that makes it easier for retailers to use the same Touch ID for online shopping. This is similar to what Samsung has done with PayPal allowing S5 owners to shop by authenticating with their fingerprints. So, is Apple now following Samsung?
