Samsung Testing Unannounced Android 4.4.3 On The Galaxy S4 & S5

The Korean giant isn't known for quick roll-out of updates, but this time it could be very different.

Samsung isn't known for the fast roll out of software updates for its phones, but a document obtained by SamMobile reveals that the Korean giant is already testing Android 4.4.3 on the Galaxy S5 and last year's Galaxy S4 flagship.

While Andorid 4.4.3 is currently only being integrated into Samsung's software it is highly unlikely that it will be launched before Google officially rolls it out. The Google I/O developers conference will he held in late June and it is expected that the company will roll out 4.4.3 sometime before that.

It is revealed that Samsung is currently testing both the Snapdragon and Exynos-powered versions of the S5 and the LTE-A variant of the S4 with an unannounced Android update (build number KTU70). However, the document doesn't given an estimate on the time when we could see the update being rolled out by Samsung.

Apart from the yet-to-be-announced version of Android, the document also reveals the timeline for when Android 4.4.2 KitKat will be available on other Samsung devices. The company has already started rolling out the 4.4.2 update for the Galaxy S3 LTE earlier this month, while devices like the Note 3 Neo will receive it later this month.

Other devices like the Galaxy Grand 2 and the Galaxy Mega will receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update in June along with certain variants of the Galaxy S4 Mini.
