Nokia Educates Users About Its Upcoming Voice Assistant, Cortana

It’s a pity that the witty voice-assistant will not be available in all countries when the WP 8.1 update rolls out.

The Nokia Blog is indeed to best source for all things Nokia, purely because it is run by the company itself. The blog has finally put out another round of tricks that will enable the users to play around with once the Lumia Cyan update goes online.

The post basically works as a guide and will help you discover new ways to interact with Microsoft’s witty voice assistant — Cortana. Apart from the usual questions that you may ask on similar offerings by other companies like Apple (Siri) and Google (Google Now), Cortana feels a lot more human and adds some life to the conversations that you can have with her.

This goes to show that Microsoft is indeed working hard at making Cortana more approachable (expect smarter answers in the future) and deliver precise content as well.

After Apple launched Siri with the iPhone 4s, the voice-assistant like iOS clearly has not grown up and has not introduced anything “revolutionary” as well. We hope that Microsoft similar to Google takes a global approach and optimises the voice-assistant to work well in other countries. It’s a big effort but it makes sense if you want to do something different; a slice of which Microsoft desperately needs, to gain market share in the smartphone game.
