iOS Users Dominate Smartphone Usage Survey Conducted In North America

Surprisingly Android comes in second place with Windows Phone in third.

Chikita has rolled out a survey that brings to light a really interesting piece of information — smartphone usage. Chikita thanks to its advertising networks in a recently reported survey claim that iOS users spend more time with their smartphones as compared to Android users.

The survey gathers data from Chikita’s own advertising networks from the 1st of February 2014 to the 30th of April which is pretty recent if you ask us. Android users according to the company simply use their smartphones for talking and do a lot less as compared to iOS users who spend a lot more time on their iPhones running apps and accessing the internet.

iOS dominates at 53% while Android takes second place at 44% with Windows Phone taking up just 1% of the chart. The company claims that the low smartphone usage could be attributed to the fact that a lot of Android smartphones out there could be affordable models which consumers purchase simply to get the job done. They could be used for their basic functionality like making calls, sending SMSs and the like which is why even though Android sales numbers are way higher than those of Apple, it may not appear to be that way on Chikita’s survey.

If you were wondering about what happened to BlackBerry? Well, they take up just 0.8% on the chart.
