WhatsApp Update For Android Can Now Mute Group Notifications For A Century

App can now hide those annoying muted notifications as well.

WhatsApp has been continuously updating its Android app with new features and this time it takes muting groups to the extremes. One century to be exact. The new update, which can be downloaded and installed in .apk format from the WhatsApp website now allows for some more tweaking to better your WhatsApp messaging experience.

First up is the controversial group mute which has received an update. The update app now gives you better control over those annoying WhatsApp groups that many of us fall victim to. The options have now increased for muting groups from 1 week to a month, a year and even a century (wonder how many of us will live that long). What has now been added is the ability to hide those pesky notifications that somehow slip by even though you have muted the group and end up in your notifications tray.

Next up, WhatsApp has also been working to make your camera and image sharing experience quicker. The new update introduces a handy camera icon to your message creation bar. The icon simply opens up the WhatsApp camera that will allow you to click and directly share an image instead of going through the attachment options on the top.

The update has not arrived on the Google Play Store just yet, but you can download the update by heading to www.whatsapp.com/android on your mobile phone’s web browser.
