Google May Unveil Its Smartwatch In June

The gadget will be manufactured by LG.

Love it or hate it, the wearables are here to stay (at least for a few years). Currently, the wearables space is mostly dominated by smartwatches from Pebble, Sony, and Samsung. We've also heard rumours about biggies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Google working on similar projects. Now it seems that Google's smartwatch is getting closer to completion as the famous Twitter handle @Evleaks has spilled the beans about the upcoming gadget. According to the leak, Google smartwatch will be manufactured by LG (the maker of Nexus 5). It will sport a 1.65" IPS screen packing in 280x280 pixels. So the screen size is almost similar to what we get on Samsung's Gear 2. However, the biggest difference is that LG's watch won't be able to match the contrast ratio of Samsung's OLED panel. Other features include 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, and Bluetooth connectivity.

A few weeks ago, @evleaks had tweeted that Google's Smartwatch will be showcased at I/O event that starts from 25th of June.

Google's Android guy, Sundar Pichai has said that Google will release Android SDK for wearables soon. So unlike Samsung's Gear series, you can expect LG's smartwatch to be compatible with most Android devices.
