HTC M8’s Dual Camera Mystery Solved

Meanwhile, HTC is still working on the next annoying teaser for 'The All New HTC One'.

An anonymous tipster has sent a photograph of HTC's brochure to GSMArena.com. It reveals what those two camera sensors on the HTC M8 are really up to. The brochure has leaked from Australia’s largest carrier, Telstra that leaves nothing for the imagination.

The document also reveals the name of handset. So the HTC M8 will be officially called ‘The All New HTC One’. Yes you read that correct! Rumours also point to the fact that HTC may also enter the Guinness Book for the longest name for a mobile handset as well. I think, I'll continue calling it the M8. Annoyingly long names aside, the main feature of the camera is actually tagged as the HTC Duo Camera. As we reported earlier, the main purpose of the two camera sensors— with varied focal lengths capture images with greater depth.

The brochure reveals that the Duo Camera allows for vivid images even in low-light while giving control to professionally edit a lot of parameters post shooting. If you ask us, it kind of reminds us of the Nokia Refocus app which uses a lot less hardware power to give similar results.

We guess that HTC’s Duo Camera offers a lot more than just refocusing images which should include 3D effects as well, as per the brochure.

Another discovery apart from the 1080p screen and double tap to wake, thanks to the brochure was the price tag. The phone’s Australian price tag is pegged at $840 (46,160 INR) which should be a good price tag for such a premium handset..
