MWC 2014: HTC Takes The Wraps Off Its Mid-Range Desire 816 And 610

Sporting a fresh-look, the handsets come in a barrage of colours with mid-range specs.

 

We have seen a number of leaks about the HTC Desire mid-range handset and now it has finally announced. Tagged as the Desire 816 and the 610, the handsets flaunt trendy new new designs compared to the earlier HTCs.

The Desire 816 comes in a glossy plastic unibody has a striking resemblance with the iPhone 5C from the back. The colours have been chosen wisely (to avoid lawsuits from Nokia and Apple). The device sports a 5.5 inch 720x1280 screen and weighs in at a hefty 165 grams. Inside is a 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor powers the device with 1.5 GB of RAM, making it a quite capable when it comes to multi-tasking. The phone comes with an 8 GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot. It has a 13 megapixel primary camera with LED flash. There's also a 5 MP front-facing camera that should prove to be quite useful when it comes to shooting those selfies.

The Desire 610 is the 816’s affordable cousin. Sporting a similar design but a smoother texture, the handset comes with a smaller 4.7 inch qHD (540x960 pixel) screen. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM. The storage is same as that of the 816.

The Desire 816 comes with a 2,600 mAh battery and will be available in black, white, orange, mild green, dark blue and grey in April. The Desire 610 also will be available in similar colours, and will start rolling out in May.
