If You Thought Dual-SIM Phones Were An Ordeal, Meet LG's Triple SIM Handset

The Korean brand has announced Optimus TRI L1 II with three SIM slots.

LG is not new to the Triple SIM setup since they have launched feature phones in the past with a tri SIM setup. But, today’s Optimus announcement was special in many ways. The latest phone L1 II not comes with three SIM slots, but also supports 3G bands on all of them.

Launched mainly as a budget phone, the device sports a 3 inch QVGA (240x320) display, running a skinned version of Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and a healthy 1,540 mAh battery unit to power those 3G radios. Speed should not be an issue as the device is powered by a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. Surprisingly, the handset also comes with 4GB of onboard memory and a microSD slot which should suffice the audio and video recording features that the handset provides.

One of those interesting features is the Radio Recording software with Time Machine. It allows for recording and buffering of radio tracks even before one hits the record button. The software even allows one to remove the DJ’s voice while recording the track. Also included is Cheese Shot which allows you to use nothing but your voice to snap a picture. The handset comes in three colours — black, white and pink.

With an interesting set of features and at the right price, we are sure this will be a perfect fit for the Indian smartphone market. Let’s just hope we hear from LG about a global launch soon.
