Micromax Bolt A46 Strikes The Low-End Smartphone Segment

This Android smartphone to cost Rs 4592.

After LAVA and Karbonn, it's now Micromax's turn to roll out an entry-level smartphone. The new entrant is called Bolt A46, which brings Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on budget. This phone comes with a 4-inch display with 480x800 pixels. Don't get your hopes high though as the panel only supports 262k colours. It is powered by 1.2 GHz processor (manufactured by MediaTek). The internal memory is 512 MB, which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot.. It sports a 2 megapixel camera with flash. It has a battery capacity of 1500 mAh that is said to provide a talk time of up to 4.5 Hours and stand by time of up to 180 Hours. What concerns us here is the RAM capacity of 256 MB, which isn't enough to handle the Android OS. And yes, like most sub-5k phones, this one lacks 3G support.

The Micromax Bolt A46 has been priced at Rs 4592. It's available via online stores as well as the brick and mortar shops throughout the country.

Its specifications:

  • 1.2 GHz MTK 6572 Processor.
  • Android 4.2 Jellybean.
  • 4 Inch display.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Lacks 3G.
  • 2 megapixel rear camera.
  • 512 MB Internal Memory, MicroSD card slot.
  • 256 MB RAM.
