Twitter Introduces New Features

Photo can now be posted via MMS.

Microblogging service Twitter has announced a set of new features to help its users post photos and update profiles in a better way. Twitter will deploy one of the BlueVia APIs to implement these updates, which includes the ability to post photos via MMS, allowing anyone even without a smartphone to post photos.

To post a photo on Twitter through an MMS, the user has to simply type the text of the tweet in the text part of the message, attach the photo to be posted, and send it to the Twitter short code corresponding to the country of origin.

Twitter has also added another feature using which, users can gain access to useful information. As an example, texting the word "Suggest" will send a list of suggested users to follow to your mobile phone, while "Stats" will get you the bio info, number of followers, and a list of the accounts that the user follows. If you want to get more details, you can send "Help", which will get you a batch of tips on how to use this service better.

The service has currently been unveiled in six countries including the US, UK, Italy, Bahrain, Brazil, and Canada, but will soon be introduced globally. Currently, you can post messages on Twitter from India using the Twitter short code mentioned earlier in the article.
