Russian YotaPhone Will Hit Markets By December

The unique handset will sport two screens and run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Remember the Russian YotaPhone that surprised us with its dual-display in 2012? Well, it's soon going to be a reality. While the company's plans to manufacture the device are on track, there are a few changes in its specs. The phone will feature a 4.3” LCD touchscreen with 720x1280 pixels. Instead of a back-panel, there will be a 4.3" E-Ink (as seen on Kindle) display with pixel dimensions of 360x640. It will be powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. Apart from that, you'll get 13 megapixel camera coupled with LED flash, front-facing 1 MP snapper, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, and 1800 mAh battery.

Earlier this year, Yota Devices had chosen the Singapore-based Hi-P as its ODM partner for YotaPhone. According to the official website, Russian mobile retail chain Svyaznoy will start selling the YotaPhone from end-November, while the international launch is expected in December. The phone will cost around RUB 20,000 (approx Rs 38,600). Now, however, interesting the concept is, we think that the price is on the higher side.
