Google Intros Education Focused Play Store

We don’t need no, education!

Google has launched their Play Store focusing on Education for users and schools for primary and secondary education.

Apps marked as “Education” are included in the “Google Play for Education” store. These apps aren’t restricted to being reviewed by educators. It isn’t clear whether filtering of apps is an on-going process.

Additionally, the “Google Play for Education” store allows educators to purchase and install apps they deem fit for kids in bulk and distribute it across the entire classroom armed with tablets under this initiative. To know more, read here.

While Google doesn’t mention costs involved, there are case studies and a “Contact Us” page to get in touch for more details on this initiative.

Case study:
“It’s an amazing time to be in education right now. It’s totally different than the classroom that we grew up in. It’s the future.” Joel Handler helped bring tablets with Google Play for Education to elementary schools in Hillsborough Township. Check out the video below about their experience.
