Registrations Open For Google Science Fair

$50,000 up for grabs, in addition to other prizes.

Last year Google launched the first edition of its annual Science Fair, which became the largest online fair in the world. The event saw an overwhelming 7,500 entries from over 90 countries. The Science Fair returns with its second edition this year. Registrations are now open for students in the 13-14 years, 15-16 years, and 17-18 year age categories. Students from all over the world can participate in the event. The search giant has partnered with CERN, LEGO Group, National Geographic, and Scientific American for the event.

A total of 90 semi-finalists will be picked from each designated region; of which 15 finalists will be invited to its headquarters in mid-July. The winner will get $50,000 cash prize in addition to a year's worth of project mentoring, trip to the Galapagos Islands with a National Geographic Explorer, and hands-on working experience at Google, CERN, or LEGO among other things. What a nice way to encourage new-age scientists in the making!
