Google Unveils The LG Nexus 5 With Android 4.4 Kitkat

The "Holy Grail" of the Android world is expected to land in India for Rs 29,000.

The wait is finally over. Google has announced the most-anticipated handset of the season — the LG Nexus 5. As we reported in our earlier story, the new Nexus device sports a 5-inch (4.95" to be precise) full-HD screen. It features a protective layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz. Gaming will be taken care of by an Adreno 330 GPU, aided by 2 GB RAM. Much like its predecessor, the Nexus 5 has an 8 megapixel camera sensor. Not much has changed in the camera department, save for the OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) that promises improved low-light imaging.

On the software front, you get the spanking new Android 4.4 KitKat. In the US, the device will be available for pre-order on the Google Play Store. It has also been listed on the Play Store India, priced at Rs 29,000 for 16 GB version.
