Videocon Unveils 8 Affordable Android Smartphones In Their Infinium Series

The smartphone line-up which includes A31, A42, A48, A52, A53, A54, A55qHD, and A55HD, comes in various specs and sizes.

 

Videocon, mostly known for its TVs in India, has been in the phone industry for quite some time. Now in order to make its presence felt, the domestic company has rolled out a flurry of new devices in its Infinium series (8 to be precise). All these handsets A31, A42, A48, A52, A53, A54, A55qHD, and A55HD are based on Android OS and offer 3G connectivity.

The A55HD features a quad-core processor and 5" OGS (One Glass Solution) screen. Its key features are as follows:

  • 5" OGS screen with 1280x720 pixels.
  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor, 1 GB RAM
  • 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.
  • 3.2 megapixel front-facing snapper.
  • 4 GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS.
  • Dual-SIM, Supports 3G.
  • 2000 MAh Battery.
  • Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).


The A55qHD is also a 5-incher from Videocon. However, as its name suggests, the it features a qHD resolution (540x960 pixels) display. Other features are as follows:

  • Dual-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB RAM.
  • 5" screen with 540x960 resolution.
  • 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.
  • 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS.
  • Supports 3G, Dual-SIM (GSM).
  • 2000 mAh battery.
  • Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

The A52 is yet another Infinium series phone with a 5" screen. However, it's specs are watered down further. For starters, it comes with a 512 MB of RAM and 5 megapixel camera along with a dual-core processor.

A53 is pretty much like the A54 but is powered by a dual-core processor. Here are the key specs:

  • 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU, 1 GB RAM.

  • 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS.
  • Supports 3G, Dual-SIM (GSM).
  • 4 GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot.
  • 1800 mAh battery.
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

The A48 and A42 sport a 4.5" screen. The A48 features a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, while the latter settles for a 1 GHz dual-core CPU. They both have a 5 megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM, and run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Finally the most affordable of the lot, A31 has a 4" screen and 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It packs in a 5 megapixel snapper, 512 MB RAM, and 1550 mAh battery. The individual prices of each of these handsets are yet to be revealed. However, Videocon claims that the entire Infinium line-up is an affordable segment with prices starting from Rs 6000.
