YouTube Readies Royalty-Free MP3 Library

Search for songs based on mood, genre, or even duration.

YouTube is the best resource to share videos, especially if you want them to go viral and cash in on your 15-seconds of fame without too much effort. While you can capture videos using any kind of camera, getting the background sounds right. And to ease that trouble, YouTube has opened up a repository of royalty free music files that you can use with your videos.

Dubbed as the YouTube Audio Library, the official blog post says that users now have access to "more than 150 royalty-free instrumental tracks you can use for free, forever, for any creative purpose (not just YouTube videos)". The library link will be available within video manager window, and lets you browse tracks based on mood, genre, instrument and duration. You can download these MP3s with bitrate as high as 320 Kbps. Check out the audio repository here.
