IFA 2013: Lenovo Flaunts Its Thinnest Smartphone Vibe X

The Android 4.2 smartphones features a quad-core processor and 13 megapixel camera.

The World’s leading PC vendor Lenovo has released its Vibe X smartphone at IFA 2013. Unveiled in Germany, the handset flaunts a 6.9 mm slim body. That’s quite close to the world’s thinnest phone Huawei Ascend P6 (6.2 mm). Its body is said to have been made of polycarbonate. At 121 grams, it's also one of the lightest smartphones in the world. Its 5-inch IPS screen is packed with 1920x1080 pixels (440 pixels per inch). The display is encased in a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6589T chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Vibe X sports a 13 megapixel auto-focus camera with back illuminated sensor and an LED flash. Self-obsessed people will be glad that this phone comes with a wide-angle 5 mp front-facing camera.

The Vibe X will ship with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Considering its 2 GB of RAM, the OS should run fine. However, Cnet.com has reported that, “we were disappointed to see a slightly sluggish response when we were swiping through the phone's home screens and menus…” Thankfully, the phone is expected to launch sometime in October, which means that Lenovo has almost a month to get rid of this issue. In India, the phone might release in December. However, as of this writing, there’s no word on its pricing.
