Micromax A240 With 5.7" Screen, Coming Soon

The handset expected to sport a 12 MP rear camera, and run Android 4.2.

 

A new Micromax smartphone called the Micromax A240 is expected to be announced by the end of next week. The A240 is said to be the next flagship smartphone from Micromax, and is expected to come with a 5.7" display.

According to a report published in AndroidOS, the Micromax A240 be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 SoC and dual-SIM support. This new flagship is expected to be priced between Rs 17K and Rs 20K, the brand's current high-end smartphone, the Canvas 4 A210 is priced at Rs 18,000. The key tech-specs of the Micromax A240 include:

  • 5.7" HD display.
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, on a MediaTek MT6589 SoC.
  • Dual-SIM support.
  • 5 MP front camera, 12 MP rear snapper.
  • 1 GB RAM.
  • 16 GB internal storage.
  • MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32 GB.
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microUSB connectivity.
  • 2600 mAh battery.
  • Features such as Flip to mute, Smart Pause, and Vertical Panorama are also expected.

The handset is somewhat similar to the Micromax Canvas 4, but the A240 is speculated to come with a better battery, and a bigger display. It is expected to complete with other larger display smartphones such as the Samsung GALAXY Mega 5.8, which is priced at Rs 23K.
