Rumour: Samsung GALAXY S3 To Get Android 4.3 Update

Along with the S3, the Note 2 is also expected to get a 4.3 update directly, instead of Android 4.2.2, later this year.

Samsung's GALAXY S3 was recently in the news for the supposed Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware upgrade, that was speculated to bring various functionality from the GALAXY S4 such as the animated ripple and light effects, along with the S-Voice feature. Now, it seems that the sales of GALAXY S4 has affected the development of a new Android firmware upgrade for the GALAXY S3.

According to a report published in Temefy, GALAXY S3 and Note 2 users may have to wait at least until November 2013 to get the next major Android firmware upgrade. Temefy also quotes an insider from Samsung about the company's plans to release the Android 4.3 for Samsung's previous flagship devices, the S3 and the Note 2 directly. Samsung is said to be more focused on the sales of their GALAXY S4 in India as of now, which is also being touted as one of the major factors about the delay in pushing the Android 4.2.2 firmware.

The Android 4.3 (termed as Jelly Bean, as of now) is also slated to be released on to the recently released GALAXY S4 octa-core variant. In fact, Google has an event scheduled for July 24, during which the internet major is expected to unveil the next iteration of the Android operating system. The newest Android variant will most likely bring with it, a host of enhancements such as improved notifications, a new voice command functionality, a new notification bar, and some minor performance enhancements and bug fixes.

However, various other reports also suggest about the Android 5.0 (expected to be called Key-Lime Pie) update reaching Samsung's S3 as well as the Note 2, once the Android 4.3 seeds successfully. The Samsung GALAXY S3 users seem to be in for a treat if the above reports are true.
