Nokia Cinemagraph Now Lets Lumia Users Make HD Videos

Also introduces new filters, only available for WP8 handsets with at least 1 GB RAM.

As Lumia users continue to look forward to the much-awaited Amber update for Windows Phone 8, here is something that will make you smile. It's popular Cinemagraph lens that has just received an update, says Nokia's official blog.  The app now lets you create cinemagraphs in HD (1080x720 pixels) that will play as a video on HD displays, such as a television, or a PC monitor. It will continue to render as GIF images when viewed on browsers, and other devices though.

Apart from that the app will also support new image filter called colour pop [sic]. This lets you pick selective colours in your images, while turning the rest of it into monochrome. The filter will also let you "fine tune the selection of the colours and extend or limit the area" selected. The upgrade is now available, as is the updated app on the Windows Phone Store. However, this upgrade will work only to make a difference to handsets with a HD screen with over 1 GB of RAM. For more image effects, you can turn to Instance, till Instagram officially graces the Windows Phone platform.
