LG Announces New "G" Lineup With The G2 Smartphone

LG's new smartphone is expected to feature the company's recently-unveiled ultra-thin display panel.

LG has officially introduced a new smartphone lineup dubbed as the "G" series, and the first smartphone under the series will be the G2. The company states that all its future G series smartphones will not carry the Optimus branding. The last Optimus smartphone to be released in India is the Optimus G Pro that is priced at a staggering Rs 42,500.

The G2 is now being pushed as LG's next flagship, and it is expcet to feature the 2.2 mm thick, 5.2" ultra-thin display panel that LG recently announced. As for the technical specifications of the LG G2, the device is speculated to run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), and a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor. Along with 2 GB RAM, you can also expect a 13 MP primary camera. LG G2 is expected to be unveiled on 7th August in the US.

When it does come to India, LG needs to price it well. If it does manage to get attention, Samsung's flagship, the GALAXY S4 could yet another competitor.

However, LG also needs to resort to a rethink of its pricing strategy, especially in India, where low-cost devices grab more eyeballs, and if LG indeed prices the G2 competitively, then Samsung's recently released flagship, the GALAXY S4 could have a brand new competitor. - See more at: http://www.techtree.com/node/4202/revisions/26542/view#sthash.KFiDUu3g.dpuf
