Simmtronics, an India-based manufacturer known for its motherboards, memory modules, and VGA cards, has launched a new tablet called XPAD-X722. It supports voice calls on a 2G network, and supports 3G through external USB dongles. The XPAD-X722 is priced at Rs 6000, has a 7" display, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The key technical specifications of the tablet include:

  • 7" capacitive display with 800x480 pixels.
  • Android 4.0 (ICS) operating platform.
  • 1 GHz single-core Cortex A8 processor; Mali-400 GPU.
  • 2G SIM slot for calling.
  • 2 MP primary camera, 0.3 MP secondary camera
  • 512 MB DDR3 RAM.
  • 4 GB internal storage.
  • MicroSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB.
  • 2G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G ( via USB dongle).
  • 3500 mAh battery.
  • Weighs 350 grams.

Simmtronics has another tablet in India, the XPAD X1010 with a 10.1" display, and is priced at Rs 8500. This device comes with Android 4.0, 1.2 GHz  single-core processor, and 1 GB of RAM.
