Fly F351 With Android 2.3 And 3.5" Screen Launched For Rs 4600

Gingerbread-based smartphone powered by a 1 GHz CPU features dual cameras and dual-SIM.

Fly has launched its new entry-level smartphone F351. The new budget handset runs the dated Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and sports a 3.5" touchscreen with HVGA pixel dimensions. It is powered by a 1 GHz single-core CPU and has 256 MB of RAM, and there is 512 MB of the internal storage, along with a microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB. Imaging is taken care of a 3 mp snapper with flash on the rear, and there is a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. This is a dual-SIM GSM handset also comes with Wi-Fi connectivity option. Here are the handset's specifications:

  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
  • Dual-SIM (GSM + GSM).
  • 3.5" touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 480x320.
  • 1 GHz CPU, 256 MB RAM.
  • 512 MB internal storage, Up to 32 GB microSD card supported.
  • 3 megapixel rear camera with flash, 0.3 megapixel front camera.
  • 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0.
  • Sensors: Gravity, Proximity.
  • 1200 mAh battery with up to 10 hours of talk time and 260 hours standby.

It is obvious that with dated hardware and OS, this is not a smartphone for those who run after performance or even big screens. While it is not clear if Google Play Store is supported, the RAM will not be sufficient to run demanding apps and games, while the low pixel count is surely not going to help the image quality. However, it may be good for those looking for a fairly compact touchscreen phone that can play most movie formats at an affordable price, and can also help one stay in touch using popular messaging apps like Whatsapp. The Fly F351 is priced at Rs 4600.
