Microsoft Will Offer Two Free Games Per Month On Xbox Live Starting From July

For Gold members, the offer will kick off with Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3.

The E3 gaming event has begun and Microsoft has taken centre stage to promote its Xbox Live service. To attract more subscribers, the company has now unveiled a new scheme offering two free games to Gold members every month from July. To drive the point home that these will include premium games, the offer will kick off with Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3. Gold members will continue to get their monthly goodies of two free games up to the launch of Xbox One that will happen later this year.

The offer is similar to the Sony PlayStation Plus offer for PSN subscribers, which gives its subscribers free games every month for a small fee. With the console wars heating up with the Xbox One pitted against Sony's PS4, it is but natural for the two giants to try to woo as many subscribers as possible on their respective gaming networks because the key to their success lies in getting the most number of loyalists. Additionally, Microsoft also announced the Xbox 360 version of the popular PC title World of Tanks will be also be available free-to-play.
