WWDC 2013: Apple Refreshes MacBook Air Line-Up With Bumped Up Specs

Powered by fourth generation Intel Core processors; Prices start from Rs 67,900.

 

At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2013, Apple unveiled a couple of updated MacBook Air, now powered by fourth generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. According to the company, these new aluminium-clad laptops offer long battery life – around 12 hours on the 13.3" and 9 hour on the 11.6" model. The base model comes with 4 GB of RAM, but you can opt for 8 GB using the configure-to-order tool on Apple's website. Similarly, you can choose flash storage opions from 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. Thanks to the new Intel HD Graphics 5000 hardware, the MacBook Air supposedly gets a 40 percent performance increase for gaming and graphics-intensive apps.

Moving on to ports and slots, these laptops pack in two USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt (Apple's proprietary) port, dual-microphones, and a FaceTime HD camera. MacBook Air ships with OS X Mountain Lion and will start retailing in India starting from today. The pricing details are as follows:

The 11-inch MacBook Air

  • 1.3 GHz processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6 GHz.
  • 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash storage.
  • Rs 67,900 inc VAT (Rs 64,666 ex VAT).

The 13-inch MacBook Air

  • 1.3 GHz processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6 GHz.
  • 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash storage.
  • Rs 74,900 inc VAT (Rs 71,333 ex VAT).
